When I was younger I fell into a canal, my mom couldn't get me out and called 9-1-1 for help. I was okay, but it's a lesson I won't forget. When I was older I learned about canal safety from Dippy Duck. I remember 1) Canals have sharp rocks and slippery concrete sides; 2) Do not ride a bicycle near a canal; 3) if someone falls in the canal, do not go in after them. I learned my lesson and to this day I haven't forgotten it. Remember Dippy Duck says "It's cool to swim in a pool".
